Well, it's not just an offense, it is also a word used to describe mentally challenged/limited/whatever people. Just because it can be used as an insult does not mean it must not be a word at all.

I once saw this video where this kid tried to get it removed from the dictionary but marriam-webster said it can't get rid of words.  I think it was my first cringe video.

It then showed a bunch of kids saying "i promise" even kids with down-syndrome but i jardly doubt they even knew what they were saying i promise to lol.

I don't understand the big deal.

Normally when someone calls someone a cigarette or gay they aren't making fun of someone's loveuality they are just calling them "annoying." Same way people call someone a handicap they find them "annoying."

I had to explain this to someone who thought the term cigarette is an insult to gay people. I had to explain to him people use the term cigarette as an annoying person.

I'm going to start using "disablo" as an insult from now on so that they eventually have to change that convoluted term.
