Roadhog and McRee are downright the most loving gay characters in the game. Having the chance to get a free kill every 9 seconds doesn't belong in a game like this. Widowmaker is a different story as you actually need skill to get a charged headshot. Not only that but when the two can cancel ults, its extremely frustrating.
That being said I find Reaper underwhelming because his shotguns have toilet range, and Roadhog, Mei, and McRee are easy counters (and they're on the enemy team 80% of the time)
So I've learned not to aim for the head but for the torso when playing Reaper

having spacial awareness of where the enemies are is gonna help tons. roadhog hooking you from a flank and killing you isnt "this character is broken", it's "look at the loving flanks". Widow gets many more chances in a 9 second timeframe to just forget stuff up. even they're both coming at you from the front in a team fight, the hook is really easy to avoid by pressing A and then pressing D to throw them off.
Also ana and reinhardt can also cancel ults with their abilities. zoinks scoob
also it's p funny how the two characters you said have basically the easiest ults to cancel before anything really happens.
