Building a computer is incredibly easy, and for many people is actually a really fun thing to do. You'll be surprised. It's like putting together a small lego set with really big individual pieces.

By building your own computer you'll not only save money, but you'll also ensure that you get an experience that is more tailored to your own needs. You won't have to deal with removing 30 preloaded bloatware programs, and you'll get higher quality parts (if you buy them somewhere sane and not from some noname india brand on ebay) than what prebuilts get in general.

I got most of my experience from building and maintaining my current PC.
May as well build one, you'll have to open it and move stuff around for cleaning anyway.

Well alright then, can you recommend any guides on youtube/websites to help me get started?

its pretty easy, just fit it together then bios update if needed and bam

You sure as hell won't get some if you never start.

Get a Compaq PC tower. One of those old ones. I have one and they're MASSIVE! Perfect foot rests and there isn't a single hardware that doesn't fit in it.

lol. Yes, I rest my feet on my PC. The tower is massive and doesn't fit anywhere else other than under my desk in which I use as a foot rest.

Well I've decided I should build a custom one as it does seem cheaper, I've summed up some average things and it would cost around £400, thanks guys.

You should definitely ask for parts advice in the PC megathread.

you don't even need one unless you're a complete idiot.
