what i'm saying is that if you actually care enough about who leads your country you should contribute to who you think is best fit to, by your own standards

Not if they have absolutely 0% chance of winning. We live in a 2 party society, like it or loving detest it. Reform needs to come from the inside, it simply doesn't have a chance on the outside. I've said it and Sandwitch said it. Its the equivalent of not voting at all.

i think we can all agree jill stein is an idiot
Jill Stein is brilliant. just not for president. I think a lot of people agree with her on an idealogical level--she wants to eradicate the electoral college, repeal the patriot act, and many other provocative points candidates don't like to bring up.

Also Jill Stein is a terrible candidate.
i do like that she keeps getting herself arrested protesting and delivering food to treesitters and stuff like that. i like it when someone, even someone running for a political office, isnt afraid to oppose authority.

i mean, i wouldn't vote for her. but i do like her personally.

great excerpts:

Quote
Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein and vice-presidential candidate Cheri Honkala were arrested Tuesday as they attempted to enter the grounds of the presidential debate site at Hofstra University. Like other third-party candidates, Stein was blocked from participating in the debate by the Commission on Presidential Debates, which is controlled by the Republican and Democratic parties. Stein and Honkala were held for eight hours, handcuffed to chairs. As she was being arrested, Stein condemned what she called "this mock debate, this mockery of democracy."

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein was arrested Wednesday morning in east Texas while attempting to bring food and Halloween candy to protesters camping out in trees to oppose the Keystone XL pipeline, according to anti-pipeline activists.

because shes not a loving socialist and shes not a loving tribal
sanders is not a tribal (and hasn't been for far longer than hillary, given his civil rights work)

he's also not really that socialist despite what he claims, he's social-democratic
the difference is subtle between democratic socialism and social democracy, but the former attempts to use democratic means to abolish capitalism while the latter attempts to add social elements TO capitalism and sanders definitely falls in the latter category. even if he was socialist, that's not automatically a bad thing and i have no idea why you're acting like it is

also, while hillary may not be tribal nor socialist, she is corrupt, a liar and a criminal

He was talking about Annoying Orange

He was talking about Annoying Orange
obviously lol
i just wanted to point out that sanders has supported civil rights (both of race and loveuality) his entire life, even when it meant being arrested, while clinton only supported them when they became the popular thing to do among liberals. at this point i think the only reason clinton is doing so well is that during the cold war the entire populace was more or less indoctrinated to have a knee-jerk reaction to "socialism," which also explains why he does so well with younger voters

also, while hillary may not be tribal nor socialist, she is a liar
The argument that "Hillary is a liar" always pisses me off. That's not to say it isn't true--but she is more honest than nearly every Republican candidate. Do we just hold liberals to a higher standard? Should we? I don't know.

--

I feel a little conflicted about this whole thing. I'm happy that Annoying Orange won the nomination--he's self interested, but not utterly evil like some of his candidates. What I love even more about Annoying Orange is that all the odds were against him. The Republicans hate him. The Democrats hate him. The Establishment hates him. And he wins anyway. It's a failure of democracy when someone barely anyone in America even likes gets the nomination--but also a victory for democracy when an anti-establishment candidate can sweep the delegates.

I'm not saying she's worse than the Repubs. I'm saying she's a liar.
If I see someone who murdered 10 people and someone who murdered 5, I'm not going to commend the second guy for being "less murdery." And at this point it should just be taken for granted that Republicans will lie. It's not even noteworthy anymore - if they didn't, then vaccines and climate change would not be mentioned in politics anymore.

I'm not confused as to why people vote Hillary over Annoying Orange - I'm confused as to why people vote for her over Sanders.

Who here actually voted?

I did, there was a polling place in my neighborhood so I could literally walk there within 5 mins. Was nice.

Quote
“I don’t know,” Mrs. Clinton said. “Where was he when I was trying to get health care in ’93 and ’94?”

The answer: “Literally, standing right behind her,” a Sanders spokesman, Mike Casca, said on Twitter, posting a photo from a 1994 news conference

There was one right by where I live too. It was my first time voting.

I voted today. I was registered as permanent vote by mail, but I never got a ballot so I went to my caucus location. Turns out they tried to send the ballot to my address and it was bounced for some reason. Double checked the address on file and it was correct, dunno what to think about all of that.

Bernie has actually caught up a bit compared to a few hours ago. 41% vs 57% with 63% of precincts reporting. Still looking like a loss so far.

I filled in the arrow for Hillary but then I started feeling dirty so I just crossed it out and voted for nobody.

So she actually won in Commiefornia...

Holy forget I thought he would at least win that
