I doubt you read it, but the article at the end of that chain is actually a very well reasoned piece, and I completely agree with it. child enthusiasm is one of the areas that suffers from the public's desire for uninhibited retribution rather than prevention and rehabilitation. There are no doubt a large number of people out there suffering from the disorder that are too afraid to seek help due to the threat of retribution. I know it would never happen, but if we could collectively move past the stigma we would be much more able to actually prevent instances of child molestation (an unfortunate irony).

that would require people to be concerned with the actual well-being of children as opposed to just wanting to make their peers think they're good people
