CNN is a legitimate news source with a liberal slant, much like Fox News is a legitimate news source with a conservative slant. The difference is that Breitbart knowingly reports hoaxes and political propaganda, which is why it's fake news, not biased news.

The reason why people actually watch "mainstream media" is because they're actually bound by journalistic integrity. CNN fired Marie-Louis Gumuchian for plagiarism, NBC fired Brian Williams for misrepresenting facts about the Iraq War, and Fox fired Emily Austen for going off on a crazy, tribal tangent during a live segment instead of actually reporting the news. There's actual quality control in the established news networks, which is why you don't see CNN or Fox shilling fake homeopathic medicine and writing articles about Obama's supposedly-fake birth certificate.

Breitbart/cnn/whatever has none of this. They are free to write whatever crazy, made-up bullstuff they want because the people in-charge don't fire the reporters and their readers lap that stuff up. It's nice to imagine that these 'renegade news sources' are spreading the truth that the established networks won't say, but really they're just selling a higher percentage of bullstuff than any mainstream network.

Probably a part of it as well. Lots of people, especially democrats, were pissed about the whole DNC scandal. It's arguably the more important issue now considering that Hillary lost.

Minnesota was only 1 or 2% away from going red. Really surprised me since even Reagan didn't get Minnesota
