What stops you from saying the same thing about Christianity?

Not going into detail but it could have been used as such. However new testament, turn the other cheek, reformation, all that stuff. Christianity doesn't have the strength it once had. It hasn't since the mid 1600s and even then there were very few theocracy's and they weren't nearly has harsh as the caliphates.

What do you actually mean by 'doubling as an ideology', though? Are we talking like political ideology?

i imagine he's referring to islamism but trying to conflate it with islam as though they're a unit

also i don't know if the protestant reformation had much to do with making christianity more modern, i think it had a lot more to do with breaking away from the heavily organized and oppressive catholic church (in other words, it was a largely political movement) which kept people ignorant to keep them loyal and stuffty

Yeah. The religious idealogy which caused, directly or indirectly, all the upheavals up until now, which is based on the return to the caliphate and which revolves around the Islamic faith

and there are stil 1.2 billion catholics on earth so i don't know why the existence of protestantism would stop them

it won't, but a pope was made an honorary globetrotter so i think they're pacified for the time being until that seal breaks

But most Muslims don't subscribe to that ideology.

Looks like you are being spoonfed fake news.

wouldve been better if #1 was the UK so it could be edgey

Because Catholicism got a lot more lax during the reformation and the church didn't have nearly as much influence.

again what does that have to do with the ideologies of Muslims?  I've read plenty of forgeted up stuff in the Bible that Christians do not emulate.
