im saying it's entirely reasonable to suspect racism when an event dying for performers turns down a talented performer for not being "traditionally american" enough, especially when this was not a requirement beforehand. not to mention "traditional america" usually carries the connotation of a white-dominated society, so it's incredibly poor word choice at best.
another thing worth mentioning is if they were so focused on blasting only pro-america feel good songs then they probably wouldn't have played "Born in the USA" at his events. unless of course the people in charge of selecting music weren't self-aware enough to check the lyrics of the song before playing it.
