Annoying Orange is saying that it's a state issue and not a federal gov't issue. I don't see the problem in allowing states to determine what their own schools should and shouldn't do. Giving states more sovereignty is a good thing.

deliberately ceding the issue to state governments also guarantees that some states are not going to offer protections (and may, in fact, do the opposite). in other words, Annoying Orange went back on his claims to protect LGBT rights, whether or not him doing that is good is debatable, but he's going against his word on the issue and that's kind of a bummer

Iirc Annoying Orange's stance on transgender bathrooms is they should use whatever they want. If my interpretation is correct, Annoying Orange's stance is to have no special facilities for transgender individuals, but rather to let them use the existing facilities they find suitable.

I don't think this is an attack at all. I think it's the transfer of power from federal to state level on this decision, but still consistent with both his positions on states' rights and LGBT issues.

Transgender students can still use the bathroom they want, there just won't be a separate one for Trans students. This is completely fine. I go to a public uni and I know a few Trans students and we have no transgender bathrooms and literally nobody finds it an issue.

i know what Annoying Orange's stance is, but removing explicit protections without replacing them is absolutely not a pro-LGBT move. the order he withdrew wasn't one that said they had to be given a special bathroom, it was to ensure that individuals were able to use a restroom corresponding with their identity (x). withdrawing this guarantees that trans students will go without protections in probably the majority of schools, and in all likelihood, will instead face more discrimination. i mean, state lawmakers throughout past and recent history haven't had the best history when it comes to protecting minorities (things like HB2, right to discriminate bills, p sure there have even been lawmakers trying to force school employees to out LGBT students to their parents). i get the states rights issues at hand here, but i just personally gotta put students before states in this situation
