No. You will not silence me.

can it really be called a scandal if it's just the raving lunacies of a crazy man?

that's like labeling chemtrails or moon-landing hoax theories as scandals

His last name is Tapper. Can he really be trusted?

lmao, Jason Chaffetz has probably never been around a poor person in his entire life. Not to mention taxpayers pay for his government-provided healthcare. What a chud.

Unsubsidized health insurance premiums are usually a few hundred bucks a month, while a bottom-tier iPhone is $200.

This is literally just a perpetuation of the conservative myth that poor people live stuffty lives because they buy too many shoes and phones.

I thought the 'myth' was that stuffty people abuse the system too easily so that they can buy too many shoes and phones. Like for example: the large black woman who always pays for her 100 dollars worth of food with food stamps and then buys 1200 dollars worth of wine with her own money every week. (True story/personal experience). Though maybe I just havent heard any conservative opinions lately to know for sure.

To clarify. I dont neccessarily believe this to be an accurate account of the situation, only that the direction the conservative statement comes from is the above perspective.

^^i used to live in white trash michigan for a year or two and about 80% of the surrounding towns were on food stamps/govt aid lol. my friends mom worked for the govt and always talked about the hundereds of people that would abuse financial aid. like rkyuta said, people use their benefits to buy food, and then spend any money they have leftover/money from their job (if they have one) to buy hard drugs, car parts, iphones, more drugs, ect. crime was high, but the majority of it was just for drug abuse

but at the same time, there were plenty of people there that legitimately needed that aid. my family used to be really poor and ive lived in areas where people rely on federal aid to get by, but i still see where the conservative argument is coming from. it doesn't need to be completely removed, but there def needs to be some reform
