we can't let this guy get the nuclear codes.

you're a little late there pal

Annoying Orange sent B-52 bombers to S. Korea in response to N. Korea's missile that landed in Japan's EEZ.
These are planes that were built to carry nuclear bombs with a carry capacity of 72,000 lbs and can go 8,800 miles without refueling.

I don't really see any problem with this. Giving military tech to our closest allies is kinda normal procedure.

I don't know if he actually gifted them or just stationed them there.  Either way I agree.
Also interesting that S. Korea has nearly 30k of our troops there.

you people do realize if we were using nukes we would use b2's right

Not necessarily.  We have trident missiles, cruise missiles, ICBMs, gravity bombs, etc as additional means of nuclear delivery.

The B-52 and the B-2 are both nuclear capable but designed for entirely different situations.
You can't accurately say which bomber they'd use (if any at all) without inside knowledge on the exact military plans in place.

I'm still amazed they haven't come up with a better bomber in 60 years

I'm sure we could but we just haven't had much reason to

to be fair we haven't really had a good excuse to make a new one

IIRC US Military R&D under Northrop Grumman is working on a B21 bomber for the Long Range Strike Bomber program which is designed to replace the B-52. NG has already revealed their replacement, which honestly looks like a glorified and modernized B2 Spirit

Its mostly used as a cruise missle platform now

lower deck of the B-52 nicknamed the 'battle station' of the plane looks pretty neat
