College shouldn't be free you dongle. College should never be free. Ever. Because nothing is "free". It can free in the sense that YOU don't pay for it, but someone has to pay the staff. The pay gate is there for a reason. You don't want people going to college just for the forget of it. Now you could make arguments about the price of community college, sure, but to say we should have free college is silly.

yes I was referring to public colleges, not private universities. there has to be an attainable path to success for poor people or else they're just going to be stuck in the cycle.

Not my problem. Often times learning a trade will land in you better success than simply getting a degree for the forget of it anyway. And do you know how many financial aid programs are available? I'm not even the poorest of poor and I qualified for plenty. And that was a private, out of state college. In-state community? I probably could've just gotten a full ride. Of course, that has to do with my grades and SAT scores, but that's a whole other thing as far as this topic goes.
