a rare time when voting third party would be both necessary and viable

On Twitter in February 2017, Wu posted warnings about the militarization of space, along with concerns over giving private space tourism companies sole access to the Moon. She wrote, "Rocks dropped from (the Moon) have power of 100s of nuclear bombs".

jesus christ thats the most autistic thing ive ever read. you'd need to throw the rock with the force of a loving artillery gun, and you'd need to shoot it at literally an impossible trajectory in order for it to hit earth.

once you send the rock into moons orbit to slingshot it towards earth (that's essentially required) you need to aim it well enough for it to come down on earth at an angle, otherwise the rock will burn up. even if you do that the chances of it hitting your target are no longer viable. its literally handicapped

Wait does she have a wiki page the same way Chrischan does?

some ghetto math would tend to indicate that if you dropped a 22 pound rock from like 1000 km straight down into an atmosphereless earth that the kinetic energy would be roughly that of the energy released by 42 pounds of TNT, not exactly a nuke

e: even with a 22 pound rock dropped from the moon's orbit with constant 9.8 m/s gravity the entire way through (which is not remotely near reality) you'd be at around 9 tons of TNT

it also will just burn up in the atmosphere most likely, and since fireworks arent a big deal i dont think this would be either

yeah but getting that 22 pound rock there would be physically impossible even with tons of calculations. anyone who would need to weaponize moon rocks in the first place would probably need to hit their target spot-on, so they'd need like 50 billion dollars in research and fuel just to pull that stuff off. its so inefficient compared to like, idk, a weapons platform in orbit around earth, or even something even more efficient- a nuke
