Whatever case you get, send them to jail.

Don't mean to derail the thread but dude wtf is wrong with your back
Herniated disk, presses against the sciatic nerve in my leg. Extremely painful, especially when it first happened. For a while I was walking with a cane because I couldn't support myself properly.

So do you receive the summons in the mail or something like that?

Yup. I bailed the first time and wrote a letter explaining that I just didn't want to go that day and woke up late so it was rescheduled to today

Man, that sounds excruciatingly boring. I hope you can pass time.
I don't think I'd be able to serve a jury (unless I had accommodation) due to my back. I have to lay down a lot to relieve pressure, when I sit the seat has to be padded or it causes a lot of pain.
It depends on the state/country, but you can probably be excused on account of injury.

Probably would be due to medical reasons. 9 hours on a wooden bench would mess me up bad

they have an option to opt due to medical issues on the form they send you

Good. It'd be cruel to make someone stay despite injury.

Just hope like hell that you won't end up being on their hit-list.

In America a bunch of uneducated forgetwits are assembled to assess whether you are guilty or not for civil and criminal law cases.

jurors don't decide the sentence

Don't they do drug testing on jurors?

Good lord, Nickpb for jury duty.

Okay that's cool. I know my dad (maybe my mom too but I don't remember) have been called for jury duty, but I have yet to have it happen to me.
