Author Topic: Police shooting in my neighborhood  (Read 545 times)

So idk how much coverage this got outside of CT, but there was a pretty bad incident that prompted a police response and lead to a man being shot about a minute down the road. A father clubbed/stabbed his 3 kids and wife and then went outside to confront the police and was killed. I waited to post about this until the details of what happened were a little less murky, because I had no idea what the forget was going on, I just heard a stuffton of noise outside and was half awake getting ready for the bus. I've lived all over the US and lived in Europe for a bit, but this is by far the craziest thing that happened anywhere I've lived. I didn't personally know the family but I saw them occasionally around the neighborhood and they seemed like typical suburban people to me. Pretty crazy that in such a quiet neighborhood where nothing really happens, it's the last place you'd expect this to happen.

From what it sounds like, the police did what they could in the situation they were given. The father was shot and went down, but he didn't die at the home. He died at some point in the transition from the scene to the hospital, which is about 10 minutes away if it was St. Vincents, 15 if it was Norwalk, ~40 if it was Yale. They didn't seem to be shooting to kill, just to incapacitate, because by god, from the pictures of the police presence and their gear, they could have turned him into a pink mist if they wanted to. The police in my town have an APC.
