Author Topic: [NEWS] Kim Jong-un vows nuclear restraint; seeks normalization with USA, China  (Read 101720 times)

Bump, can't let such an interesting story die

a north korean UN appeal to sanction the united states and her military exercises with the south was dismissed today, prompting kim to denounce the ultranational body

(the united states is part of the UN security council and so holds the power to veto any proposal or appeal)

"We're defying all the regulations put forth by the entire world, but AMERICA DID A THING! CHASTISE THEM!"

Literally NK is a loving 8 year old.

I want us to invade NK so we can help its abused citizens but that would only do more harm than good. Which loving sucks.

Is it bad that I feel like our "liberation" of their abused citizens would end up as "liberating" as our efforts in Vietnam?

I doubt it would be the same. The face of modern warfare has jumped dramatically since Vietnam. I'm of the opinion that we'd bulldoze the opposition. That and vietnam was more the result of poor decisions back on mainland than it was guerilla warfare being an issue

I meant more of a war fought for a reason that was never really executed

Pretty much the only reason the US would seriously consider invasion is an instance of one or both of an armed attack on US assets and/or the discovery of oil in the region.

NK taking over SK = attack on US assets

smh kim works just like the civ AI

NK has promised to kill more americans than 9/11

china has officially sanctioned the north, cutting off subsidized resources like iron, gold, titanium, coal, and oil. although china allowed the original UN sanction to pass one month ago, some private chinese companies pounced on the opportunity of having a captive market and peddled materials to kim, but this declaration liquidates any deals made between china and north korea, private or no.

in other news, a nuclear enrichment site in north korea recently started seeing plumes of smoke rising from its factories (viewed by satellite), suggesting a resumption to nuclear endeavors

Does anyone else feel like they can't wait to see North Korea finally fall?
