Author Topic: I have a couple questions for someone who plays The Crew  (Read 1292 times)

I'm thinking I might get the game but I want to make sure it isn't a waste so here are my questions.

Are there single player races other than the story?

What is the average player count?

That is all

i bought it and then refunded it because it played like stuff, i was following it for years but it just flopped. not to mention 30 fps restricted if you dont tweak the gamefiles, but that makes it even stufftier to run.
not recommended, wait for the new NFS to release on PC

I wasn't planning on the pc version because I can't run it. I was thinking about the ps4 version.

wait what why

i bought it, but i barely play it. the story isn't honestly that fun/thrilling to do. same thing applies even if you're in a crew.

races between crews are p fun sometimes though.

I don't care about the story (and from what I have seen it is hilariously bad), I care for the customization and racing.

believe it or not but some games have a 30 fps cap

you need to do quests (for the story) to get parts iirc.

I knew that

I enjoy it a lot. if nothing else, the map is ginormous. the physics are not super realistic but unless you're a fan of simulators it probably won't bother you

there are "faction" missions which are meant for you to earn reputation for a faction. some of them are super long but give you a lot of "bucks" and you can do them independently (there was one in particular which circles the entire map on the highways and lasted about 70 minutes every time; you could gain a huge lead over the NPCs and it was a good thing to do while listening to a movie (if you're good enough at racing to stay on the road without ignoring the movie completely))

i think it's really pretty and it has lots of variety and once again the selling point is that the map is huge. did I mention it takes over an hour to circle it?

I think there is a limit of about 7 other people in the world at once. it's a peculiar thing where you kind of automatically migrate between instances of a few players at a time. if you want to get with other people there are PVP lobbies. I know that you asked for singleplayer action but PVP is actually a good time, and this is coming from someone who usually gets very frustrated at competition. You can earn a lot of bucks even if you don't come in first, and it's nice to know that you're playing other people instead of rubber-banding AI

- I am a big fan of cars
- I am a big fan of big maps
- there are many cars here and they have nice interiors too
- i have it on PS4 and then later got it on PC just to re-experience it with my wheel controller that doesn't work with ps4
- you'd buy it if you were me

Well aware, just disappointed because I was considering getting this

Avoiding a game completely due to it's framerate being at 30 is kind of dumb honestly.

Anyway, I've been playing the crew long enough to get a good opinion on it so here we go, it haa a big map and you get to upgrade cars, ever since the release of the wild run expansion they improved a lot of things on it like the handling physics, the graphics and a lot of other things, I love it.

ive been playing in 60fps+ for 4 years of my life i cant stand 30fps, im gonna call you biased since you have a positive opinion as well

I don't even see a significant difference between 30 and 60.

It's slightly slower but not by a huge amount. The game is still playable at 30.

I can't stand it when games go under 30, 20 is just horrendous.

There's a pretty significant difference between them. 30 looks more standard looking (best way I could describe it anyway), but 60 is far more fluid. It's far easier to notice if the game goes from 60 to 30 or 30 to 60 mid game.
