exactly what it says on the tin. Makes gore not show. (with key to toggle, since blood is suuuuuuuper important in Despair Syndrome and similar.)

is it just laggy for you? or are you disturbed/do not like the display of gore

also are you talking about the blood mod where blood sticks to walls or the vehicle gore that you see in default game

Not really possible unless you edit every server sided gore addon and somehow make it so the server version isn't downloaded.

Whether you see gore effects or not should be the choice of the host (who created the gamemode), not yours.

Why should it be their choice?
I honestly want to hear your reasoning on this.
And I want to get rid of them because they're a bit too over-the-top, plus the blood dripping is annoying. A bit of blood's fine but it's a bit too much, especially because blockheads are lego.

They created a gamemode to be played a certain way.

I'm assuming your problem is that you can't see anything while being shot (or similar), but this is a gameplay element just like hiding player names.

its there choice because the client is a means of interpreting a server, if you don't like blood and gore then don't play on servers that have blood and gore, there isn't really anything you can do about it unless you were to jerry rig the mods on your client side but this would probably have adverse effects on the stability of the game

I hope that's not the case because these are lego figures after all.

Some people want a little bit of realism even if they are lego based characters, however considering Blood and gore has been default since I think v20, its current implementation being server based does seem to be inefficient.

It should however be the player's choice if they want to see blood or not.

Also as it stands right now Blockland should actually be rated T according the the ESRB Chart http://www.esrb.org/ratings/ratings_guide.aspx, and yes I know its been debated quite the times.

This is actually a important thing though, since certain countries require blood or other types of violence to be censored in order for the game to be sold in said areas.

Though since its an addon that comes with the game I am unsure if Blockland can still be affected, the fact its enabled by default is what brings this into question in the first place.

Before Blood and gore though it should of actually been a E10+, and only because of the spray can label, otherwise it would of been a E rating as it is right now.

Yeah

Multiplayer though is like Borderline M, like the border right before Adults Only

But thats only on some servers

ESRB doesn't rate online interactions for this reason

Is blockland's single player even rated by the ESRB? I could of sworn Badspot says he hates the ESRB.

Yes he does hate the ESRB ( The pic you posted).

However the Blood and gore mod is enabled by default even in singleplayer gamemodes, not just multiplayer.

Included gamemodes can be played in singleplayer.

Anyways lets point our attention back to the main issue that is OP's request.

Anyways, I have come up with an idea on how to fix OP's problem.

We would need to update the default Blood and gore mod to support client sided preferences, to explain, basically for the Blood and gore addon you would also need the Blood and gore client, and that would add a toggle in settings for Blood on or off, when you join a game that has it enabled the addon would check your preference and simply toggle the effect, BUT there is a problem, as far as I know it is not possible to stop rendering particle effects for specific clients only, I may be wrong on this, but I do not remember it being possible.

But that's a start at least, second problem being if Badspot would even consider pushing a community made update, I'm sure for bugs or exploits he would, but for a single add-on I don't think he would consider it necessary though.

You can actually open the mod yourself, name it something different and change the gore. Then you can host it without gore.
