why is argentina's timezone wrong

exactly none of argentina is in -3 yet their timezone is -3

Argentina is and always was Atlantic Time (GMT -3) but we had San Juan, the westmost region set to GMT-4 and we used to have DST. Time calculations were overcomplicated so both were removed. The entire country is now -3 and DST is not enacted.


So when you come during the winter and wonder why it's night at 11:00am, it's because there's no more DST.
