Aight guys, I don't know what's up.  The last thing that blazer and I wanted to do was carry the whole RP.  I sent out a poll in the Nation RP General thread, asking which of two previous series they would prefer, and Insurrection at the time when I reviewed it, won 4 to 1, and I was the only person at the time who put forward Tributary as a choice.  Blazer and I are trying to do what we can to move things forward, but there's only so much we can do.  What's up, guys?  Is there something we can do better to make it easier for you guys?  Anything at all, just tell us what's up.

I don't like to be outwardly confrontational, but I feel that our hands are tied, and it's frustrating.  I've been monitoring the "Who's Online" list on and off today, and I know some of you have been online for hours at a time.  I know that some people have posted and tried to be attentive, and I thank those that have, however, all I can really say is "What the hell, guys?"  I don't have the slightest desire to be at odds with any of you.

Please head over to the chat service listed HERE if you want to discuss it.

Kringleberg, I have seen you browsing the forums almost all day today and yesterday.  I know you're there.  I've sent you two PMs without a response, and I have a hard time believing that you simply forgot about it.  It's unfair to moderators and other players who are trying to keep the game moving.  IMO your character is probably too old to go on this mission, but nonetheless, I would appreciate a response.

In the old rp, we had a system of "dead-weighting" characters who simply didn't do anything.

so it's been made apparent that the roleplay is moving a bit slow for some players.  the reason is, is because this is meant to be a sort of "warm-up" sequence where players become familiar and comfortable with the setting, and decide overall how to play their character.  that being said, if you guys just want to skip the passive roleplay and jump straight into the action, which i advise against because passive roleplay can be a whole lot of fun if we all participate, then please let us know right now and we'll flash-forward straight to the next mission.

mom and dad aren't mad we're just disappointed......

I don't understand why no one has even responded/voted.

Tickets are handed out to volunteers.  The ticket reads "Queue Exemption".  On the back, the ticket guarantees ability to skip lines for supplies and maintenance before the mission, briefing, etc.

Me neither...  :/

After the matches, the speech occurs, and the Commandant is now asking for volunteers for the first offensive operation.  Lazar finds himself in a crowd with at least half of everyone's arms raised.

at least half of everyone's arms raised.
a handful*

"Thank you, all of those who volunteered.  I understand that some of you who did not volunteer are unable to do so for your own reasons.  Not to worry, you will not be treated any differently, you will all still have a place in the effort.  Those of you who volunteered have received a handwritten ticket with your names and a certain privilege.  You will find that each ticket is also marked with an abbreviation that signifies your new rank.  I would like each of you to walk into the offices and downstairs into the projects room,"  Novil stops as people begin to migrate toward the offices.  "As for the rest of you, please go about your day as normal.  Thank you all for listening."

Alexandru begins to shuffle between the crowd of people moving in all different directions, breaking free of the cluster and heading into the offices.  He turns right once inside, heading through a pair of glass double doors which appears to lead into a break room, in the corner is a large hole, that appears to have been added post-construction, in the floor with a ladder sticking out of it.  He heads down the ladder into a dimly lit tunnel, where a man verifies that he has his ticket with him and allows him to proceed.

At the end of the tunnel is a larger, more well lit room, with a series of electronics running on each wall.  In the center was a large table with a holographic projector in the center, at one end was the officer who had spoken with Novil prior to the speech.  Alexandru stuck his hands in his pockets, walking up to the table and standing beside it.

Petir navigates through the crowd in attempt to follow Alexandru.  He shows his ticket to the official guarding the post, who waves him through.

He enters through and sees Alexandru standing beside a table where Novil, a few of the Aces, and the unidentified ONM officer.  He nervously strides over to where Alexandru is standing and awaits, shooting a glance back toward the tunnel through which he just came.

Also added some extra canon info in the secondary OP.

Suljo does the best he can to push through the large crowd of listeners trying to keep up, but ultimately ends up being there later. He nods at those looking at him while he walks in.

Petir nods back, and then digs his hand into his pocket and procures the ticket from his pocket, curious to see the arrangement of three letters written on it.

Petir finds that his ticket reads, "Btm."

As everyone files into the room and surrounds the table, the ONM officer stands up straight, overlooking the crowd.  "Good morning, everyone," he began, "My name is Alekos Rota, or Major Rota of the Osvon National Military.  You may call me Major, or Alek.  We are here today for an intelligence briefing -- to inform you of just what exactly you're up against.  Novil?"

Novil nodded his head, as the Major took a step back, "I won't sugar coat it, people -- we're outgunned and outnumbered.  Kreusche's international contacts have allowed him to acquire hardware much more advanced than the military had before he came to power, stuff that I've never had the pleasure of seeing or hearing about at all.  The Major is here to fill us in on these new technologies, what we should look out for in combat, and so on.  It is of the utmost importance that you pay attention during this brief, as it may save your life in the long run.  Major, you may continue."

Novil stepped back and the Major took his place, he looked down and began to tap buttons on a small tablet that sat in front of him, wired to the projector on the center of the table.  The projector lit up, and projected a diagram of a kevlar vest above it.  "The ONM now employs a new more developed form of Kevlar.  It has been dipped and coated in a non-newtonian fluid, and allows the vest to stop heavier caliber rounds, up to the size of 7.62x51mm, your average sniper rifle round.  While it doesn't exactly stop the wearer from being put out of the fight, it certainly saves lives, making it hard to cut down their numbers.  However, it should be kept in mind that killing one takes one out of the fight, but wounding one takes three out of the fight.  This can be useful in combat situations.  Military Police units, or just MPs, all over the island have been issued these vests.  If at any time the opportunity presents itself to obtain one, take the opportunity.  Next -- " the Major stopped to tap a few more times on the tablet.

An Ocelot projected itself above the table, a small half-spherical object was highlighted on the roof of the vehicle.  "That tiny camera there that's been highlighted could mean the end of an assault for us when up against the military.  This camera is a more recent installation to military vehicles that assists a system we call Persistent Close Air Support, or PCAS.  Without the PCAS, an airstrike could be called in on the opposition and could take up to an hour to carry out.  With PCAS support, airstrikes have been known to have been carried out in as little as five minutes.  If you find yourself up against a vehicle and you see one of these cameras --" the Major stopped, tapping a few times again on his tablet to bring up a whole array of diagrams of several of the military's vehicles, each with a camera highlighted on it, "You should consider either falling back or destroying the camera or vehicle, first thing."

"That concludes that for now.  Are there any questions?" the Major asked.

"I do, sir." Petir raises his hand.
