nah

But yeah, those bricks are lovey. He's also going to be making a few more for me. Here's a description.

  • Pump brick --- Pumps water from the ground into the pipe system.
  • Dispenser brick --- Latches onto a pipe and will dispense any chemicals (like fertilizer or weedkiller) you add to it into water that passes by it.
  • Valve brick --- Let's you block certain pipes
  • Sprinkler brick --- Sprays the water onto crops, taking water from the pipes and using chemical.
  • Pipe bricks --- The pipes themselves, includes straight pipes, curved pipes, pipe ends, and pipe intersections.

Each of these bricks will cost money of course, however getting your crops watered automatically will be less expensive than the old sprinkler bricks. The idea is that the game is now more about planning than constant maintenance, so new players won't be expected to manually water crops.

Since the crops will be taking a good bit longer to grow this time around, crop calculation ticks will be more infrequent. This means that water flow will also be calculated at relatively infrequent intervals. Water flow and chemical usage will probably be calculated every few minutes, however water won't actually take any time to flow over distances. The entire connected pipe system's water content will be recalculated at once in a tick.

Funny, because the last server was arcade style and it got really popular.

Which kinda explains how people got so much land so quickly.  Also, what does the dispenser brick look like? Seems like it wasn't included in the picture.

By the way, could there be a way to make land connect when you buy 2 or more lots that are adjacent? I wouldn't mind if we could just remove the path between the lots and place grass in place of them?

I like the sound of RPG mode a bit more. It sounds a bit like how facebook games work, except with more creativity and immersion.

If it gets selected, though, the server should be hosted for at least a few months.

Yeah, you could become a millionaire in like three days. That's not okay. Anyway, the dispencer is the green thing that looks like the blue pump.

Probably. Another thing to keep in mind is that lots will be 96*96 studs this time around.

I like RPG mode more too. I'll host as long as there's activity. I've had this VPS for over a year now and just paid for another three months.

More ideas for you:
Storage, this is a limitation so people cant just mass-farm everything early game, you would have to build an area for storage, such as a barn, or have containers for it.
Farmer's Union, if a farmer has an extremely beautiful farm, and has skill building, they will be offered to join the Union, where you unlock a lot next to the lots of other Union members, this will get rid of people who have amazing farms (I'm looking at you Conan), and have to see stuffty dirt piles with weed everywhere, which bring me to the next thing about the Union... You can not grow weed at all, if you do, you would probably be kicked out of the union.
Sla- I mean Workers, Basically bot placements, and to place one, you have to "hire" a bot, which is just buying a permit to hire people, and then buy the worker at a certain place, you can only have workers if you are in the Union (To prevent bots lagging the entire server)

or bots only spawn when you're on the server

that would be a longer term goal though cause bots take cpu power and are not easy to code. if it were implemented, it would be good to also make an "auto-bot" which handles the bricks on the server while the owner is out, but doesn't actually spawn a bot and runs on a longer tick.

in fact it could probably just be implemented as an auto harvester brick which autoharvests bricks next to it, rather than bot workers.

Also add a way to make people look like farmers? The spawn could have it where you start with overalls, and you choose a face, ski color, and clothing colors. To prevent creepbears, Monglers, and Neon People.

thats pushing it

just let people be creative. theres no need to limit farms to look like real life farms. thats what makes blockland unique and fun - we're not limited to a certain style or gameplay method

I'm already planning storage. You'll be able to hold maybe ten high yield plant's worth of crops, but beyond that if you want long term storage you'll need to buy (refrigeration) chests for them. This won't effect newer players who'll just sell harvests instantly, but players who wish to wait for the best price can use them to get an advantage. Chests will have a slight decay rate for stuff inside, perhaps 5%/day for whatever's inside. Better chests have less decay, and you'll be able to upgrade your inventory size.

Bots aren't gonna happen though.

you should release those pipe bricks separately. those would work REALLY well with builds

will do eventually

ive already promised drendran i'll hold onto them until hes done hosting farming

the sprinklers and valves are door bricks
