were u gonna judge him if it was for smok
well it's against the law for a 17 year old to smoke. i don't give a stuff if he wants to smoke, but the walmart employee can't sell something to someone where they're going to break the law. they'll get in trouble

That's like trying to buy booze or a gun and saying "You don't know why I'm buying it so it's ok"

lord tony would have probably just given you the lighter fluid cause he dgaf about walmart regulations

Oh yeah that reminds me, he cant be near me when I buy ammo in walmart, like, he has to walk away for me to buy ammo. I don't get it.

because they assume you're buying it for him? that's kinda obvious

If they're age restricted items, like alcohol, tobacco (and possibly related paraphernalia), painkillers or fireworks, it is illegal for an adult to buy the item on the behalf of someone underage.
It is also illegal to knowingly sell those items to an adult who is buying them for someone underage.

It's not a policy thing, it's a legal thing. All shops should do the same.
In regards to buying lighter fluid though, that may be law or shop policy depending on where you live. Here in the UK, lighters, fuel, cigarette papers and related items are all age-restricted as being tobacco paraphernalia.

ya
if im with my friend and im buying cigarettes and he is like buying his own drink and we show any sign of being friends/being together he is also supposed to get carded. often this isnt regulated though, heck, the entire store doesnt card me anymore because i know the cashiers by now and they remember me by face

lighter fluid is not gasoline by the way

"The Cigarette Lighter Refill (Safety) Regulations 1999 make it an offence to supply any cigarette lighter refill canister containing butane, or a substance with butane as a constituent part, to any person under the age of 18."
The forget.. This makes no sense though, because you can buy matches and stuff under the age of 18?

lighter fluid is not gasoline by the way
yeah but they're both flammable. Gas is worse than lighter fluid.

shh i can hear him coming

who??

you couldn't be referencing our resident ex-walmart employee could you??

I don't think it's required to card both by law, but often store policy is to ask both if they're all around that indeterminate age. Around that age it makes sense to assume the product is for all of them.

Most supermarkets here also use "Think 25", where they ID if they look under 25, even though the highest age restriction is 18. It just keeps them safe.

if it's because the law thinks you're going to use it to smoke then they can't sell underage people anything flammable in general because if you're underage and want to smoke you're going to find out how to make a fire one way or another
