In fact, why do they even bother using memes at all? Years from now it'll just show how dated the show is, and since they're using memes older than what we currently have, it's already making the show seem dated!

I thought it was good, the animation was smooth and there werent any giant plot holes
about the voice actors,what do you think they could scoop up the original actors and have them sound the same after 12 years?

Also the title sequence was a nostalgia kick in the nuts to the style and opening scenes of of Need for Speed Pro Street in 2007

Also, the returning VAs still sound pretty similar, so it shouldn't have been too hard for the VAs of Blossom and Buttercup, whom along with Tara Strong, were willing to do the voice acting for the reboot, iirc

honestly though, while the 2016 ppg reboot is absolutely awful, i do think that it created something magical because never in my entire life have i seen the internet almost unanimously agree on something
