Author Topic: [Blogland] My dad almost died.  (Read 1012 times)

Wasn't gonna share this but I'm bored so may as well.

I got off work last night and went out to my car. I then pulled out my phone to check my messages:

Mom: "At ER with Dad. Had to call EMTs, but I brought him in. Please call when you can."

Apparently, my dad collapsed and was unresponsive while fishing with my sister. Although he's only 40, he suffered from a brief stroke as a part of the lining in his carotid artery dislodged and became stuck temporarily blocking the blood flow to his brain. The remains broke apart and it appears he's going to be alright, but he's still hospitalized right now.

alot of people are almost dying huh

Damn that sucks
I dont want to be rude or anything but I think Crazy is right, Im seeing more and more important people die faster the more time moves in. 2015 was tragic, I just hope 2016 wont be as bad

i guess you could say you had a stroke of good luck!

It's just everyone getting older.
A lot of the biggest celebrities and such were in their 20s/30s when our parents were kids, when they were just starting out. Zip along 30-40 years and they're reaching their 50s-70s. It's not uncommon for people to die more frequently in those age brackets.
It seems alarming to us that we're barely adults and some of the celebs we grew up watching are popping their clogs. But most of them were only part of our childhood because they were part of our parents childhood.

I guarantee the next generation, our kids, will feel the same way when 20-30 years down the line the celebs who are our parents ages start to die too.

And 2015/Jan 2016 were just unlucky enough to be some bigger names who passed away.

It's good to hear that he's recovered.  Strokes are serious business.

At least you still have your father, unlike me.
