Opinions on women in STEM advocacy/encouragement?

it's good that women are being encouraged more to engage in STEM activities. there was once a stigma that women couldn't do these things, and that stigma was, in some ways, still prevalent in society.

that being said, i remember seeing some stuff propaganda in the past about women in STEM that seemed less like, "women can learn in any field they like" and more like, "there are statistically less women in STEM than men, so get moving girls, you're either in STEM or you're wrong."

It's nice. People should be encouraged to do whatever they want to. I can't comment on their efficacy though - one would think students nearing graduation would've already decided their major.

Can't think of anything negative about it but we should be encouraging STEM in general.

How about encouraging women to live their lives instead of victimizing them and calling every woman that doesn't subscribe to 3rd wave feminism "blinded by the patriarchy"

I saw far fewer STEM posters and campaigns for women at university than I did at college (high school).
At my college they really advertised STEM education to everyone.

Nothing at my uni. But that may be because I'm on a campus that only does humanities so it's not so easy to change.
