Author Topic: "Authentication Failed" (Hosting Issues)  (Read 1211 times)

Now im starting to get frustrated.
Yes i know this is the 3rd Topic on this already but this is starting to piss me off.

(The other Topic was a mess and i want a more sorted out one,and also the happy update wasnt for long sadly)

Known Facts:

-Joining Servers functions properly again (So Far)
-Trying to host gives me this Message "Authentication Failed"
(With the Server starting but crashing after a Bit or not starting at all)

Things ive tried:

-Looking trough Add-Ons (If any of you wants to sort trough my Add-ons to find anything bad tell me)
-Restarting my Router
-4 Clean installs
-Letting steam look for Broken Stuff

With all of them not doing jackstuff.

Only one worked slightly and that was Turning my Firewall off completely and then on again. (Wich made connecting to other Servers work again)

Answers for Question asked in the other Topic:
-I live in Gemany so the ISP aint really that Useful
-I can display this Message complete without Trouble:auth.blockland.us
-I have a static IP
-This all happend out of nowhere
-I use Avira Antivirus (Wich always worked)

As a Sidenote:Also whenever i use the "Custom" Gamemode the "Colorset" tab is missing

Ill include the Console.log (I also found that when the Server shuts down that it says "No User")

So incase anybody has time i would appreciate the help.

RTB added this.

How can i change it then?

You change it by replacing the Colorset.txt under "Blockland\config\server".
Or just download an RTB version that still kinda works.

With the clean install, did you try it before you put your addons back?
Like, put all your addons in a different folder, and see if the problem persists.

It is also possible your antivirus messes it up, so disable that too for a test.

An other thing you can try is hosting from a different computer from the same location.
If it works, then the problem lies on your computer.
If it doesn't then it lies in your network.

An other thing you can try is hosting from a different location.
Go to a friend and see if it then works.

An other thing, do you use UPnP or did you port forward?

Add-ons and UPnP/PortForwarding wont have anything to do with auth fail.
It's either antivirus, firewall, computer, router, or isp doing something wrong.

Some other bits of Info:

-My Antivirus never did cause me any Problems
-My Firewall allows BL
-I dont believe its because of the PC,Router or ISP

-I dont believe its because of the PC,Router or ISP

Well obviously it is, because you wouldn't otherwise have a problem.
Please go try the suggestions I gave (other computer, go to a friends house) so we can find out where the problem lies.
