personally I've rather enjoyed the division and elderscrolls online
the division doesn't have as much for customization though

Darkspore.

Its TOTALLY playable and not forgeted by EA making it online only for something that is almost only played singleplayer because the coop is dumb!
public service announcement

this game was shut down February of this year

warframe, it's a grindy co-op with some mmo elements, but the grinding process is fun

but if you want full out grind which you could probably play in the background, runescape

Blockland Adventure Mode

Warframe is lacking quite a lot of the RPG aspect. It's more FPS than RPG.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is pretty good for storyline, and you don't have to focus on the grind. It's also free to play.

TESO: Tamriel Unlimited is also quite decent for storyline and story-based quests. The grinding is pretty minimal for gear/experience/skills too. It's not free to play, but has no subscription.

all of TESO's quests are copy pasted. i don't even remember any notable ones. every location has a 'localized' (just has the names changed) quest for it, but it's basically just either glorified fetch quests or "run around to these 4 waypoints and do something, then come back". no notable NPCs, you just want to click through them cause it takes forever to do anything :(

crafting is cool tho

the old versions of world of warcraft, not the new ones they suck
