Author Topic: I got an old computer from a friend and put Linux on it.  (Read 952 times)

Yeah, as the title implies, I have an old computer that had Windows Vista (which was on the edge of unusable) and decided to put Linux Mint on it. Ive gotten the internet to work, but the wireless stick I got with it didnt work or the computer wasn't recieving stuff right. I tried to put TF2 on it and it looked as if the game had been corrupted. Heres some specs too if you're wondering
Core 2 Duo E8400 (3.00 GHz)
256 MB of VRAM (Intel HD Graphics)
6GB of 800mhz DDR2 RAM
7200rpm HDD from Hitachi.
Any suggestions of what I should do with it?

nice

install Self Delete Linux and type a command wrong

it's dated but I wouldn't exactly call it old. With a GPU it'd run games like CSGO.

a computer i actually still use for gaming since better computers aren't easily accessible runs an amd athlon (first gen) x2 at 2.5 ghz
paired with a 9800gt and 4gb of ddr2 ram.
oh and @ 1440x900

it goes a lot farther then cs:go believe it or not, you could get away with battlefield 4 fairly well if you set bf4s cpu priority to high in task manager. just don't be intending on multitasking.

install a better distro

install teamviewer on it and give us the join code and password.

sudo rm -rf /

just kidding, use it as a dj bot for programs like teamspeak and discord
