Naruto makes no sense but not because of anime bullstuff, talking animals, magic powers, etc.

They are ninjas, right? Yet they always fight 1 on 1 with honor. They never do surprise sneak attacks, they always have to publicly announce when they strike before they do it.

These people aren't loving ninjas, they act like Samurais.
