Oh no someone doesn't want other people to buy a game because they dislike the company. Boo loving hoo.

Are you incapable of reading?

Honestly even if this game is stuff I hope a ton of people buy it anyway just to show that we want more games in that timeframe

I'm not saying "don't play EA becuz EA is ebl". I'm saying be skeptical and don't get your hopes up. EA, and DICE especially, have had a very disappointing track record in recent years. Just because I'm not sucking EA off like a mindless handicap doesn't mean I'm secretly hoping this game will be stuff or anything, The chances are if it gets good reviews I'll definitely buy it because I love the time period.

Because battlefield 1942 wasn't alternate history. Throwing historical accuracy out the window in favor of appealing to the lowest common denominator is loving handicapped
I can't think of a single example of a non-simulator game that would legitimately be improved my modeling itself exactly with reality. Every game takes liberties to improve gameplay. It's how far the game takes it that really concerns me. When I'm playing battlefield it isn't for its perfect portrayal of warfare, it's to shoot some dudes and shuffle around in the dirt. Really, as long as the new one doesn't totally depart from history and take place on the moon I think most people would be okay with it.

Agreed, the alternate timeline shenazz is odd but from what the trailers showed it honestly doesn't look much different from WWI, hopefully the only said that to allow certain guns/vehicles that were developed after WWI but not during WWII

Obviously I don't want the game to be completely realistic. It's more about authenticity. I don't want people using guns that barely anyone was able to use during the war as well. It's going to suck if it's just battlefield 4 with an old fashioned theme.

I read an article about it and apparently it's not alternate history. I'm guessing it's going to be similar to 1942 in that regard.

would you say bf4 is just bf3

would you say bf4 is just bf3

It's bf3 with very limited map destruction.

why do you care about historical accuracy in a video game

Oh look someone else with poor reading comprehension.

This is 100% speculation, but given that melee weapons seem to have a bit of a focus beyond "press x to knife" (the devs mentioned in the reveal stream that there'd be different melee weapons with different stats), I'd imagine that automatic weapons are going to have some pretty hefty weaknesses, otherwise melee would be basically a gimmick if the average player isn't rolling with a bolt-action.

Nearly 1 mil likes on the trailer
1 mil dislikes on the cod trailer

this is now a megathread cause forget you all

Oh look someone else with poor reading comprehension.
using a different term doesn't explain why you care...
