1. None really, but, if I had to, probably a deer. Despite my name being shift kitty. Maybe a snow leopard.
2. When? Not a clue. How? Because I was seeing art of cute fluffy 'people', and I was interested.
3. I have not. I don't plan on it either. I'm not even interested enough to get involved with furry communities in general let alone go to a real convention.
4. Definitely because almost every movie I watched as a kid had animal or anthro characters. Also pokemon.
5. As an additional note, I'm not really much of a furry. I really do not like how aggressively a loud portion of them loveualize it. There is no 'safe clean furry place', not one that I've been able to see anyway. People very frequently forget to set mature filters on their uploads. And even when they do, places like FA still show the image in all it's uncensored thumbnail glory if someone you follow happens to upload nsfw art, even if you've done your best to ensure every mature filter is on. I've been in a discord server as well, which specifically had a separate channel for stuff like that, and I muted it. Didn't stop everyone in the main chat from writing smut, posting research, and assuming everyone there is loveually interested in everything furry. It is far from welcoming to people who aren't loveually interested in the subject. Even here on the Blockland Forums, the thread is filled with images of tight underwear rooster bulges and other special interest related things.

No? I routinely browse FA on my phone at work with SFW mode, and have never had issues unless someone forgets to set the filter. Which I've found isn't really that often

This is why I prefer IRL furry meets over online discussions. People do and say crazy stuff online behind anonymity (and it's not really just a furry thing either), but I've never had a problem with people doing this in person

1. What animal do you associate with and why? Foxes and wolves because they're majestic as forget and my dream is to be majestic as forget.
2. When and how did you become/learn you were a furry? Disney and an starfish in school told innocent me to add "hentai" to my favorite shows.
3. Have you ever attended a furry convention? If so: What did you think of it? If not: What do you think of them? Nope and I'd love to go fo stuffs n giggles
4. Do you think there were any "signs" of being a furry at a young age, such an an obsession with a particular animal or anything like that? Yes, I always loved being around my dogs more than my clates and well, here I am.

A SFW option doesn't even show up for me because my content maturity filter is set to "General". This is supposed to make sure I do not see anything flagged as mature or adult. They have still shown up in my "new submissions" page. Uncensored thumbnail, but if I click on it it doesn't let me view it.

Yeah probably. It's just unfortunate that I've had poor experiences in every attempt to actually get into the fandom.

1. What animal do you associate with and why?
2. When and how did you become/learn you were a furry?
3. Have you ever attended a furry convention? If so: What did you think of it? If not: What do you think of them?
4. Do you think there were any "signs" of being a furry at a young age, such an an obsession with a particular animal or anything like that?
1. None in particular, but a lot of people say that I act like a cat.
2. research. All of the research, fresh from the s/fur threads in /b/.
3. Nope, but I don't think I would pass up the chance to if I could meet with friends there, online or otherwise.
4. Not that I know of. When I was younger, I just preferred the company of animals to people at most times. Actually, come to think about it, I remember "marrying" some big pink bunny plushie when I was 5 or 6. My brother and cousin promptly made fun of me, so that never happened again.

1. Dragon because I think they're badass
2. When I learned I'm more loveually attracted to Anthros then actual humans.
3. No but that's because I don't leave my state very much. Last place I went to was Florida and that was in early March. I honestly don't know since I haven't been to one yet.
4. No, I almost became a brony out of curiosity when I was 17, but then I realised im not that much of a friend.

You know if people with half a mind would do some research on why furries exist, there might not even be a hate for furries. I'm not a furry but i can guess at what might've led some folks to adopt the nature, yeah sure.

you remember space jam, your remember that one bunny girl (can't remember her name). Do you know what it's like a for a kid growing up to be present in the presence, of well...that? You have loony toons and all these early cartoons of anthropomorphic animals to thank for the loveual tensions because its what molded you growing up watching stuff like that.

It's the same way a special interest develops and insulting it is like insulting a way of life or a way of thinking because it doesn't appeal to your social needs/standards.

Just my two cents.

speaking of which, looking up "Lola Bunny" (the character you're talking about) in google images gets research on the 1st column, 2nd row.

It just furthers your point, really.

there's even more now that i turned ss off.

welp, there you have it folks.

shoulda said "that's all, folks"

my very first encounter with furries was joining the blockland server for Krystal's Clan, and someone had loaded pixel art of furry research
I liked it

if I was going to say any one moment led to me being a furry, I guess it'd be that one

edit: actually, now that I think about it, it's conceivable that that could be the whole reason I'm attracted to furries at all. I was just beginning to go through puberty, and at the time, I think that was probably the first, or close to the first time I ever saw research period
but given that it's not 100% loveual, I imagine I'd still like them either way. just, possibly, I might not have wound up with a special interest for them, otherwise

Furries existed long before space jam tho
I mean I know it was just an example, but...

Tbh tho, don't try to explain why furries exist by starting off with research, because love adds a whole huge layer of complication to things. Not to mention there's far more to furry than that. Just explain why the cartoon animal interest in general is a thing, and then research just falls in place because...young adults and teens with naturally high love interest.
I dont really know why it's a thing. Cartoons animals are highly marketed towards kids, so I guess I just didn't outgrow it?

1. What animal do you associate with and why? see: angryon
2. When and how did you become/learn you were a furry? i dunno but i had this dream when i was 10 and stupid and took people saying i was now a furry seriously and it eventually progressed from there
3. Have you ever attended a furry convention? If so: What did you think of it? If not: What do you think of them? no, it's basically the same as any other con in my opinion then again i've never been and don't plan to be
4. Do you think there were any "signs" of being a furry at a young age, such an an obsession with a particular animal or anything like that? i liked animals, still do but y'know, not in a gay way or anything
i also blame night fox

by the way that topic up there is pretty hilarious have fun seeing the ramblings of me 5 years ago
