Author Topic: Sid Meier's Civilization VI announced - October 21, 2016 release  (Read 3659 times)

I love the new art style. civ 4 and 5 were ugly. too bad civ is a million years behind games that people who like civ play.
This, I really didn't like the old art style

Great, about time I actually learn how to play Civilization V.

"Civilization VI offers new ways to engage with your world: cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and competing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game. "
HOLY forget NOW MY BIG CITIES CAN LOOK LIKE BIG CITIES

but is this just going to be a graphical thing or will cities actually be multiple tiles across? what is this gonna mean for conquering stuff?

yes these sound good

Each city spans multiple tiles so you can custom build your cities to take full advantage of the local terrain.
sounds like they're actually take up a few tiles

how t'f
5 just looked realistic

does that mean i can make mega city 1

what's Venice going to be like

city conquering will probably be just conquer the city center and you gain control, but you can burn the tiles around

A city tile? I guess that would work

pros: city tiles expand onto water, more trade
cons: only one city, trade not implemented until two years after release

probably gonna be an endless legend system

civ vi idea:
each city has race demographics of people who immigrated from other regions and civilizations. as germany you can either do nothing about this or relocate the people to a city you've named auschwitz and then raze it for a warmonger penalty

idea:
have the game be complete on release this time

it sounds like a good plan on paper but that doesn't leave room for dlc

Somebody made this recolor and holy stuff does it look good. I think the only problem I actually have with the new art style is the really bright colors.

ALSO, apparently the game is releasing with all the content from the Civ5 DLCs, such as espionage, religions and the updated trading.

holy stuff
i'm wondering if they'll re-release old features like health and global warming through new dlc

wow that has to be the most vague trailer I've seen in a long time.

the graphics look dumbed down and cartoony

I like it.

EDIT: I think a 2D only option for people with crappy computers would be good. Civ V was surprisingly difficult to run.
