Author Topic: Apparently illegal immigrants are now getting accepted to vote against Annoying Orange.  (Read 10218 times)

What I'm getting at is that even with a wall, you wouldn't be able to really stop illegal immigration. Maybe you spend a day of government spending on the wall, but now there's boats to float around it, or holes dug under it. Unless you want to recreate the Korean DMZ people are gonna get across, albeit less. If you want people not to cross your border, making the wall 10 feet higher isn't gonna make them stop. You have to make illegal immigration seem like a bad idea with major penalties. As it is today it's a slap on the wrist and a ticket back home. I live in Southern California and there's a lot of people who are pretty open about who's parents migrated illegally. Obviously I wouldn't want to see people already here deported, but I wouldn't mind seeing illegal immigrants penalized.

I think people trying to get around via boat is probably easier to notice and there would be a limitation on where exactly they could arrive in the US.

also I can't remember where but I recall hearing that there would be more intense penalties for illegal immigrants under Annoying Orange's plan

I don't think there's much more we could do than fine them and send them back

it'll be like the berlin wall and people will make hot air balloons to get across

We would legally be in our right to shoot them down.

I don't think there's much more we could do than fine them and send them back

well I mean if we exclusively did that instead of taking them in and giving them everything they need, the country would be better for it.

then they can come back legally and work legally and live legally and love legally and live the legal American dream

can we just attack mexico

The main concern is now these illegals are worried of getting their families split apart because of deportation.

Well they should have thought about that before they decided to come in here illegally.

can we just attack mexico

Vicente fox threatened war or something if Annoying Orange was elected lmao

and I thought they were getting along too

The price isn't really that important in the long run, considering everything that will be put in place to stop losing money to Mexico, which will also itself discourage illegal immigration.
can you explain a bit better how we're losing money to mexico? i know we have a trade deficit, but that's not really a public issue or a major macroeconomic problem in the long run. i'm not really a fan of the wall idea personally, even if it solved some domestic economic problems it would definitely raise problems with foreign relationships, which can also cause some economic strain depending on how mexico responded.

i also don't really tend to believe that immigration is incredibly harmful in the grand scheme of things anyway; it allows our economy to be supplied with more labor (esp. low skill labor that we don't have enough of), which promotes growth. i also live in a town that has a pretty large immigrant population and my dad teaches elementary school at a school that's almost entirely kids from those families, and that stuff is wild man, i can't help but be sympathetic. they're coming all the way to alabama of all places to get away from their countries, and i wouldn't feel right if they were just told to forget off. also it'd probably hurt our local economy pretty bad since they definitely do work

With what army? We would wipe that country off the face of the earth.

We only deal with mexico because we are obligated to.

im not an expert on this subject but i believe that mexico is a significant portion of the usa's trade

we should've just annexed Mexico when we marched their capital
we wouldn't have had to deal with all this bullstuff

Mexico is kept alive for similar reasons that China keeps NK alive, namely that its collapse would lead to a power vacuum and an outpouring of refugees across the border, likely overwhelming our ability to deal with them (much like Syrian refugees in Europe).

That's only as far as I know, of course, and I'm no expert on this.

there's a neat little infographic here that addresses most of what you've brought up.

Mexico is only alive because we allow them to live.

North Korea is only alive because of china and the US.

Most of the loving products we buy from china are linked to North Korea but they just slap the chinese sticker on it.

wut, that would bring much worse problems
