Author Topic: what new keyboard and mouse should I get  (Read 3079 times)

if you don't want to build one I highly recommend the ducky shine 4

or the ibm model m

An IBM Model F is a supreme typing model which I cannot seem to get a hold of.  Although very noisy, it is extremely durable and of high quality.  The Model M is also good, but not as good as an F (an F can use all of it's keys at once)

However, a modern alternative would be the Cherry MX series.  Cherry is one of the oldest manufacturers in the business, so they know what they're doing.

I recommend using their own flagship models using Cherry MX Blue switches.  I use that for typing out documents.

If you want a good gaming experience, however, I recommend finding a keyboard using Cherry MX Red switches.  I use the one with blues for typing and the one with reds for gaming.

I can also confirm that Steelseries is of high quality as well.  My Apache Pro laptop uses a keyboard made from them, and it is truly sublime.  I would, how ever, choose Cherry over Steelseries.

EDIT:  For a mouse, try going for a Red Dragon model.  Unfortunately, they can be a little flashy, but their quality for price is really good.  You can get extra utilities on them as well.

You could be like me and use a model M, but unless you have one of those layin' around like I did, it's gonna cost you a lot. It may or may not be worth it, since I've never really had any other mechanical keyboards, so I really don't know.

If you're not willing to spend that much, go with Razer (bite me), I have no clue what people are talking about with their longevity, I've had a mouse from them for like, 5ish years now, and it's still perfectly fine.

Corsair is also a good choice from what I've heard.

can you do better to a tech support team?

yeah i would start by not caring about a loving typo

I changed the title as I'm also wanting a new mouse
I might just stay with the one I have now but if there is anything else please suggest

Well what kind of games are you gonna be playing with it? If you're just gonna be doing BL,  stick with what you have. If you're gonna be playing fps (es? 's?), get a mouse with two extra buttons. If you're gonna be playing mobas/mmo( 's?!) get a mouse with a forgetTON of buttons, also with macro support.

How about a Razer mouse?

its made for gaming!
