Author Topic: Blockland crashing when planting blocks  (Read 1350 times)

I'm on an older laptop running windows XP SP3. 1.79 GHz AMD Turion 64 processor, 2 GB of ram. Running/starting blockland (steam) works fine, but as soon as any blocks load into the game, I get the error, "blockland.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience." I've removed all add-ons just to be sure there are no conflicts, so i'm not sure what's causing it to crash.

Here's with trace

I remember a topic like this from a long time ago, where someone was also trying to use antiquated dinosaur hardware. It stopped crashing after checking "disable vertex buffer objects (slow)" in options>advanced.

You could try updating your drivers, but I doubt it would help.

I do agree with the rest.
Even a 200€ laptop will run better than what you currently have.

I'm pretty sure the drivers are outdated, however i can't find the update on AMD's website.

You could try using software like Driver Booster.
It is a quick and easy way to update all drivers.
Just be careful when you install it, it will try to trick you multiple times in installing things you don't need.
And uninstall it afterwards, you don't need to continually update your drivers.
Especially when running Windows XP.

Otherwise, you could give me your laptop model and I will take a look for you.
I am pretty good at finding things on the internet.
