That's some fast loving discussion
hey, it's a controversial discussion, what'd you expect

It shouldn't have to be,

People don't want children, we need stem cells.

This shouldn't even need to be an issue.

Getting stem cells via abortions would be massively impractical anyway...
You get several orders of magnitude more from bone marrow donors, it's cheaper, and orders of magnitude less likely to make you lose funding because of stupid people in congress.

if someone gets pregnant and doesn't want the child, what makes another person responsible for the choice of you keeping and caring for an organism you don't care about only to either hate it or get rid of it another way when it's born?

and abortion is a hell of a lot safer than rolling down some stairs or using an old coat hanger, if they really don't want the baby, they'll find a way

get rid of it another way when it's born?
speaking of which "put them up for adoption" is an awful solution, there are already too many kids in that situation

But embryonic stem cells are just as easy to obtain from umbilical cords from healthy births, and is much less controversial than extracting from aborted foetuses. It's also much more readily available.

What's the alternative?

Banning abortions will just lead to the rise of coat hangers which severely injuries the female in the process.

Also will lead to the rise of bastard children and mothers whom aren't fit to care for them.

ye defo, was just makin sure the difference was established

mothers whom aren't fit to care for them.
i'm starting to think the misuse of whom instead of who is more annoying than the misuse of who instead of whom

for whom is this womb? who can truly say...

i know that this topic's been dead for a day but i need to say something else in agreement:
banning/making a law against something won't stop it from happening
see: shoplifting, murder, rape, drugs, assault, speeding, every other loving crime, etc.

I don't think that's a very good argument, unless you're saying those things should also be legal, lol
