and skyrim is just a big rpg with dragons
but just because a game can be summed up quickly doesn't mean it's bad
At least I can say that skyrim is not as linear

I judge a game's worth based on it's replayability and the sense of accomplishment/progress one can get. (Like gaining levels or collecting things)

when I played hl2 I felt like I mostly cheesed it and since it's linear, there wasn't much point of replaying it besides for achievements

The combine are an absolute joke when compared to the marines and assassins of HL1.

I don't understand how this race of people managed to take over the world in a couple of hours when they are all braindead and weak.
well duh donald Annoying Orange got elected president in hl2 and drafted everybody who voted for him

its easy to figure it out

Have you actually watched how rebels stand up against the Combine without Gordon's help? There's a reason the appearance of a single human being set in motion the uprising of humanity

Yes, I am perfectly aware of HL2's garbage writting.

"Oh you are him, Gordon FREEman" as the loving NPC puts on extra emphasis on FREEman to symbolize Gordon setting everyone FREE. That was the cheesiest loving stuff I ever heard.

Which doesn't make sense by the way after the events of HL1. Why is Gordon Freeman considered a rebel leader when in HL1 all he did was just fight for survival in a secret underground facility. He wasn't fighting Combine or oppression. He was literally just some guy at the wrong place at the wrong time that just wants to loving get out of there.

I guess I made the mistake of playing HL2 as soon as I finished HL1.

If you haven't played HL1 in years or never at all and then played HL2 it's a great game. You won't notice anything wrong with it.

HL1 on hardmode was pretty hard, I was expecting the same kind of challenge in HL2 as well. I actually kept complaining how HL2 is too loving easy and I can't stand it and everyone is telling me "hey bro why don't you just put it on hard mode" I'm playing on the loving hardest setting and it's still not even close to being as hard as HL1.

HL2 is a completely different game from HL1.

There is a zombie level in HL2 and there is like 20 zombies right? Well coincidentally there is like 100 loving explosive barrels on the ground perfectly lined up to cause a chain reaction to kill every loving zombie.

It's like these levels are fan made or something, it's ridiculous. Everything felt unnatural. It literally seemed like a fan made that level, copy and pasted too many barrels so he can show off this cool chain reaction!

You must not have played the game because in 95% of the areas there are not explosive barrels.

Also ITT: HL2 is a bad game because i personally disliked it

95% of the areas doesn't have explosive barrels? Bullstuff.

You literally posted a meme to try and prove your point because you couldn't find any evidence.

I literally posted a meme making fun of the amount of explosive barrels in HL2 because it's true. During the loving hover craft mission there is a stuff ton of explosive barrels just laying by an old bridge, really out of place.

The highly advanced combine even uses rusty explosive barrels as weapons.

Count all the barrels in this one generic scripted encounter. Some of the combine are even scripted to hide behind explosive barrels..

>there's 3 barrels
>HOLY forget THERE'S SO MANY forgetIN BARRELS IN THIS GAME WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH

dude I don't even like half life and I know this it bait
but at least it's funny

"It's true because I say so and because I say so I don't have to back up anything I say"
No, it's making fun of a half of one of the ten chapters (chapter 3, where you get the gun for the first time and the developers wanted you to have fun trying it out for the first time) because it has a lot of combine tossing explosive barrels at you. Every single one of the screencaps you posted is from the first half of chapter 3.

Also holy stuff dude learn to edit? 3 posts in a row?

He isn't referring to a single level, he's talking about Half Life 2 overall, and there is a lot of explosive barrels throughout, excluding that one underground area filled with explosives and Manhacks because those are used against the player rather than the enemies

I'll say that i like and had fun with Half Life 2, but i also get what Tony's saying about the difficulty

The hardest thing in Half Life 2, IMO, was the Strider battle at the end of Episode Two, and that's because you have to multi-task between Hunters, Striders, bases, refuel on Magnusson Devices, rockets, AR2 alt fires, etc
