Author Topic: my lung collapsed this morning, ama  (Read 2840 times)

woke up with weird chest pains, bah whatever, continue stuffposting on forums, browsing reddit/twitter/FB, chest pains continue to where I thought I was having heart problems, go see pediatrician, "you're fine don't even worry about it, come back in a month or so", go back home, pains get excruciatingly worse, debate going to the ER, go to the ER, get a checkup to make sure my heart isn't loving itself over. They take an X-Ray and them come back later.

"nah your heart's chill but you're showing signs of Pneumothorax (a or more collapsed lungs), so we're going to stick a tube through your chest to let the excess air come out"

kden

this is the result, or rather the timeline of me thinking I had heart problems then it leading up to Pneumothorax

and now we're here at my lovely abode instead of spending a god awful night in a hospital

ask me questions you chumps, no the hole is not big enough to forget.

does it hurt when they put the chest tube thing in?
Ive never had any operations, surgery, or other medical procedures so I dont really know what its like

Decompression needles look like a ton o' fun.

tbh I cried throughout the entire thing, not whining but tears were constantly streaming because of not just the pain (with anesthetics mind you), but the uncomfort of knowing that a tube/needle is being force into your body at pressures you didn't think were safe

yep, that's what pushes the tube in itself, a whole lotta fun.
