Mods can be anything as long as it doesnt make the game silly like the thomas the train mod. Im not really looking for items but I guess it wouldnt hurt. stuff that makes the game realistic af with either graphics or gameplay is a +

Alternate start

Try searching for some shop owning mods or what interests you, such as guns, new weapons, or just download some whacky mods that make the game funny.

I dont like those
I want to feel like im in the game itself.

love mods arent bad tho ;) But the last time I did it I modded skyrim so hard it crashed and I was too lazy to figure out the crash so I ended up deleting the whole game

I like things like Perma/SkyRe that really change the way the skills work and the such.
Convenient horses is great if you want more useful horses.
The crafting Overhaul is nice to be able to melt items down and make things you can't normally.
I personally love frostfall (and thus also camping mod), especially in combination with Hunterborn.
It feels so much more like you are actually in a cold area.

you can watch this fantastic video on installing the ENBseries for skyrim and really making the game pretty

the only cheat i use is the auto looting. where anything i kill kinda pops up the loot screen without me having to run up to them lol.
because forget all that pointless busy work

oh boy here we go
  • ordinator is good if you want a perk mod that isnt as complicated as perma/skyre/etc, though it doesnt overhaul stuff as much
  • immersive armors/weapons are both decent for adding more variety in loot and enemies
  • i recommend skyrim unbound instead of alternate start because its got a lot more starting options
  • sounds of skyrim and immersive music are gud, there was some other mod that overhauls the combat sounds but idk what it was called
  • i use attack commitment, TK dodge, and deadly combat just to change up the combat a bit, makes a bit more darksouls-y i guess
  • dual wield parry is also really handy because why the forget cant you parry when dual wielding or using any other combination of weapons
  • if you want a follower mod get inigo literally nothing compares, unless you want the tiddy bress followers that you can love up because thats all skyrim is good for obviously
  • immersive hud is nice for just clearing up the screen, u dont need to see ur health and magic and stuff all the time
  • idk what you plan on playing as but for magic; apocalypse spells and the lost grimoire are decent iirc
  • the racemenu thing for character creation is also really recommended jsut to have more options
  • violens if you want a killmove mod because why wouldnt you want to have cinematic shots of you brutalizing your enemies

holy stuff i could go on for a long time sorry for the block of text lmao, i tried to keep it to mods that more directly affect gameplay and not just graphical stuff

One of those character overhaul mods that allow you to start with specialized classes, etc. I can't remember what it's called, but it uses a similar system to oblivion.

for graphics, dust effects, hd enhanced terrain, 2k skyrim texture overhaul, static mesh improvement mod, SDO, realistic smoke and embers and some enb. also grass plugins are really hot too. here's a good one
blowing in the wind is great
