Author Topic: On first play  (Read 1651 times)

Well because half the bloody time a new player comes to Blockland not having a clue what to do and there name etc is still default, I'm suggestion that a pop-up comes up and tells them how to change there name avatar etc and direct them to the tutorial.

I'd agree. It should be something like:

Welcome to blockland! Is this your first time?
Then if you press yes, it tells you how to change your name, how to change your look, then asks if you want to do the tutorial or something.

That explains what I was trying to say much better  :cookieMonster:

To stop noobs from asking how to build, maybe the tutorial map will start on your first time on blockland and you have to complete the tutorial to exit the map?
That might also be a good idea for a noob filter

might also want to update the tut a bit... but yeah this idea is great!

Also put "A name with the word "block" in it is not original"

And auto send them to the tutorial if they click yes, too!

I sugest a guided set-up.

The "is this your first time" could appear with the options for setting your internet speed. But i agree with the idea to update the tutorial, how to use printer and how to use wrench. Though I don't think theres a way to check if the person has successfully used the printer. Or even the wrench for that matter.

centerprint-"now hit the print brick with the printer

on wrench/printer gui open
centerprint-"click the decal you want to aply it to the brick."

Oh my God this is a great idea! It should also tell them how to use macros! =O

yeah, people are constantly confused about macros and some don't even know they exist.
There is a tutorial up in the help section, but not a lot of people look into that.

It should come complete with Auto Capitalization!

Or something could pop up with a box to input your name. (Not sure if someone already suggested this as I didn't read the entire thread.)

No, I think that it should show if they don't have the common sense to change their name.
