Hard to really describe this, but I was thinking of something along the lines of a Hologram-ish things, and when you aim at it, a cursor appears where you aim and follows it, perhaps clicking can perform a function by pressing a button on the 'hologram,' etc.  I hope I explained this good enough. :\

It would be cool, and I expect people could make some neat things with this. (Computer within the game, maybe)

like the monitors in the wire mod (for gmod mind you) that you can use to view/handle values?

Uh, maybe.  Haven't figured that much out from wiremod yet. :cookieMonster:

i don't know that much ether, all i was doing was trying to find the right monitor, but this is how they work, when you put your crosshair on the monitor a cursor appears and you move it to one of these buttons and you can click by pressing <USE>
that what you want?

Sounds to be almost exactly what I mean.

How would you make a moving cursor separate from the normal cross-hair appear on a flat surface?

I could foresee some kind of GUI based computer that could be customised by the host, but on an ingame object....sounds tricky.

Hm
You could have an emitter appear on the mouse when you click on a special brick, then it would follow your mouse around untill you left the area of special bricks perhaps.
Perhaps I'm making it too complicated, I dunno.

Sounds a little hard to make. Especially with the topic of "can you use it to browse the web in game".
But if it can be made.... Support for youtube vids would be nice. Especially with movie theaters.

Someone should perfectly incorporate wire-mod into blockland! :cookieMonster: No seriously, that would be PWN.

Zomg, that would be awesome for movies! I can just imagine it, a bunch of people sitting in a giant room, and a small screen in another room being projected onto the giant screen, start up a vid, put it fullscreen high quality! Ownage. Pure Ownage.

God damn, you know how impossible this would be to make without engine changes?

No, that's why I posted it in suggestions.

My idea:

Computer buttons> tied in with wrench events> onclick of a icon on the desktop> open gui> fill gui with w/e> ect.

Is there logic in Badspot's events?

Oh, and would that computer gui be filled with options the maker sets?

Yeah. Basicly it would send the gui data from the server to the player. Hm.
