Author Topic: My parents make me do the bills at age 13?!  (Read 7042 times)

there are plenty of people who are adults who don't know about adulthood
did you miss the point of my post
that doesn't make sense and you're not an adult
I got your post pretty solidly

I got your post pretty solidly
my point was that you don't have to be an adult to know about adulthood
and then yours was just reaffirming that i'm not an adult

it's not like i'm already prepared for a career or anything and am only stuck in my house under my parents because i'm 16 and nobody in this city will hire me because i'm 16there are plenty of people who are adults who don't know about adulthood

literally every place that is hiring in my city explicitly said that i have to be 18 to forgetin work there
so, yes
i really think i can't get hired because i'm 16 because the places hiring in my city told me that i have to be 18

if you are so knowledgeable about adulthood and did your "research" youd be able to find a job
literally any fast food place hires anyone, you dont have to be 18

they're probably just telling you that because they don't want you to work for them

well it's a good thing that there are no fast food places in my city
it's all antique shops and county stuff
they're probably just telling you that because they don't want you to work for them
and you have the gall to call me a cunt

i love how everyone is calling op out for making the legitimate complaint that it's not cool to put financial stress on a kid that's 13 years old and has dyslexia (which probably makes his job of actually doing the bills/taxes/whatever 100% harder)

like sure i'd understand if they asked him for help around the shop with some tasks the parents need help with like cleaning up the store after a busy day, but it's just downright stupid to saddle a dyslexic 13 y/o with the stressful responsibility of forcing him to manage an important aspect of the family finances like paying the bills

If you don't train a life skill like this until the moment you need to use it you are already behind and unprepared.
Fair enough. That being said, I acclimated to paying bills in a few days. Kinda ridiculous to excpect that from a 13 year old if you ask me. It doesn't take three years of training
