Author Topic: Ideal GPU for blockland?  (Read 2156 times)

with a gtx 970 i get 60+ fps with max shaders basically on any build except for the really big 256k+ brick ones but you rarely get to play on those
Same here, I can pretty much play soft shaders all the time on max without any issues.

r7 370 here
I get 100+ fps with no shaders

I get over 100 with max shaders on R9 290x

All these comments like "I get xxx fps with xxx gpu" are completely useless if you don't say how many bricks you're playing with...

I made this a long while back when I got a new graphics card because why not

this is my gtx 970 4GB after a year and 6 months of use. my cpu is a i5 4440 because that actually plays a factor in this kind of stuff
resolution is at 1920x1080

0 bricks, off shaders- 410-415fps
0 bricks, max shaders- 326-330fps
Beta City, off shaders- 360-370fps
Beta City, max shaders- 240-260fps
ACM city, off shaders- 330-355fps
ACM city, max shaders- 220-230fps
Blocko seattle, off shaders- 105-115fps
Blocko seattle, max shaders- 35fps

ideal gpu would be a gtx 1080 or something but it doesnt really matter, you can get above 144 with most good cards

Shaders are optimized with Nvidia.
Badspot probably used them while coding.

Try to go for a GTX.
Then go as high as your money allows.

If you are talking about the absolute best graphics card money can buy, I'd say an Nvidia GTX 1080.
Personally I am going to go for the 1070 as that is a better price/quality ratio and spending 700€ on a card is a bit much.

what res is this

I have an R9 390 and I can run ultra shaders (port's) at 15-20 fps. Soft at a solid 45-60, depending on the build. Having that you just built your computer I'd hold off unless you feel the r7 was a "mistake" to get and you came across some money. I wouldn't upgrade unless you upgrade your processor though, depending on what you got.
