Serversided regulation of mutes and unmutes.
Only SuperAdmins can define who is hearing who.
Players can mute and unmute players for themselfs, but this can be overwritten by the server.
Players can mute every voice transfer.

------- abusable? Possibly, but this wouldn't hurt anyone, except the one who has muted himself.
So damage is only limited to the person who tries to cause damage.

From what I know, Torque doesn't have voice compression and streaming, but of course theres nothing stopping Badspot from implementing it if he wanted to (I assume). And the "I don't want to hear <insert sterotype>" is ridiculous. I would think you are able to /squelch them or something.

If you really want to talk over Blockland, nothing is stopping you from running xFire, Vent, or TS while playing Blockland.

Now that I've thought about this, all it is, is another thing host and admins have to do along with the other things like banning, kicking, clearing spam, taking care of baby's who steal each others build ,and tons of other things, so what I'm saying is that this wouldn't work.

This works in Gmod, it's the exact same here.
I don't see why you are all making such a big deal out of this. This is possible and is a great idea. It will also work our just fine. Not every god damn 8 year old has a mic or even knows how to use one for that matter.

This would require a huge effort on my end for something that I don't think is a good idea.  Therefore: not gonna happen.

If you want to talk to your friends just use skype or teamspeak or roger wilco or any of the other programs designed to do this.
