You heard right! I passed my drivers exam for a class 5 basic. After two fails for stupid reasons I finally got it. My heart was beating like a mother forgeter.
First exam I hit the curb coming out of a parking lot and the second time I didn't slow down fast enough when I entered a school zone! Those weren't really "stupid" reasons. They're stupid in a sense I should've done/known better.

I did mine on first try driving an 18 foot long passenger van and I still parallel parked perfectly. That was 2 years and 3 days ago.

The drivers exam here is loving handicapped and rigged to get you to spend as much money as physically possible. My 2nd last time doing it I was autofailed for stopping to let a pedestrian cross. Unnecessary stops are not an autofail, and I had a perfect run up to that point. I was so loving pissed but there's absolutely no way to appeal or speak to a supervisor or anything.

Wait, your axams are on open road? Our driver schools are on open road, not the exams, lol.

Also my exam was parallel park, traffic light, going up/down a hill, doing a circular road backwards without touching the curb, zigzag through cones (this was hard because it was prepared for small cars, not a pickup truck, and 90° parking.

The instructors were on the road and registered everything vis plates. No one got in the truck with me.
