Author Topic: Steam's gay 15 days trade mobile authenticator bullstuff  (Read 8327 times)

Its sale
I have csgo skins
I dont even play csgo anymore
sell csgo skins
Market place held for 15 days or whatever

Steam you loving what mate?
I dont want to check my phone for some stuffty code every damn time I log in. And what if my phone is dead? My stuff, half broken phone literally takes 10 minutes to start charging for some reason.
You care more about my security than my mother cares about me in general
Like brother why? Security reasons? If some twat gets hacked for using a "Free steam games 2016 100% legit, enter password here!" tool thing its his own mistake for being an idiot.

I can't even trade cards because the loving trade 15 day stuff is longer than the actual sale which is 11 days.

Total crap.

Steam needs to remove that garbage.
I can't even sell my duplicates for the last TWO cards that i need

Thanks Volvo
I can't even authenticate my account, so i'm stuck with this :panda:

Life was good when it just email notifications even

you can thank the 5 year old youtubers getting hacked for their cs:go skins.

maybe just use the mobile authenticator????

theres a windows version too thats floating around i think
binds your steam account to a panel that you can open to confirm stuff

all i want to do is sell stuffty skins that I get for 1p and I have to confirm each one with an email and wait 15 days for it to go through.. thanks steam

Mobile Authentication is the way of the future, so get used to it.

Hell, don't be surprised if we see a future without passwords, where everything is instead handled directly by your mobile phone and some apps.

I'm sure you knew the Summer Sale was coming, why didn't you sell things you didn't want ahead of time if you didn't have a mobile authenticator enabled?

Anyway, anyone upset by the trade hold should read this

If you don't care about the security of your account then go right ahead and use the unofficial desktop authenticator at your own risk

Also people are complaining about not being able to sell their cards before the end of the sale, but they're only like...less than 10 cents each? You could probably scrounge around a parking lot and find more money than that if you really need it that much, or you could just...trade 'em, because they're trading cards, I'll hold onto my dupes from now on and anyone can trade for them if they want

with mobile auth: "omg steam forget your authenticator i shouldnt have to put in a key every time and wait 15 days to sell if i dont want to"

without mobile auth: "omg steam security is terrible my account got hijacked and all my inventory is gone"

I know, this stuff is bullstuff.

The steam sale lasts only about 11 days and we have to wait 15 days for trades to go through.

How the forget can we sell stuff or trade so we can buy games?

Mobile Authentication is the way of the future, so get used to it.

Hell, don't be surprised if we see a future without passwords, where everything is instead handled directly by your mobile phone and some apps.

So your phone gets stolen, then what?

You could probably scrounge around a parking lot and find more money than that if you really need it that much,

How can you put the real money you find on the ground into digital money to buy steam stuff? You can't unless you collect enough junk change on the ground to buy a steam card which is unlikely. I have steam items worth over 100+ dollars which is faster than finding stuff on the ground.

or you could just...trade 'em, because they're trading cards, I'll hold onto my dupes from now on and anyone can trade for them if they want

These stuffty summer cards expire and it takes 15 days for trades to go through.

Steam sale only 11 days.

I'm sure you knew the Summer Sale was coming, why didn't you sell things you didn't want ahead of time if you didn't have a mobile authenticator enabled?

"OH MAN YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD 20/20 HINDSIGHT BECAUSE YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN TRADE HOLDS LAST LONGER THAN THE SUMMER SALE, YA stuff!"

This system is flawed. They should give me an option where I can opt out of this bullstuff by an agreement and if my stuff gets hijacked that's my own fault, I signed the agreement to it.

If you're dumb enough to add some random dude and then click his link to steamcommomity.com you deserve to get your crap stolen, hell even I'm smart enough to catch a phising attempt

The authenticator is dumb

What's the difference between 5 and 15 days?

Chances are if you are unable to prevent a scam for a whole 15 days then it doesn't matter how long they give you.

Some of these people probably never went on in years and some kid guessed their password.
