It's fast.

Otherwise, beware of Cortana.  It records your voice, it logs your keystrokes, and it tracks your browsing history.  It uses all this data to build a profile which is sold to advertisers.  Worst of all, it does reinstall itself with every (mandatory, forced) update regularly made to Windows 10.

Making windows 10 free wasn't generous, it was just a good business decision, and poor ethical choice for them.  But it's a multi-billion dollar corporation whose only goal is to make more money, so you you should probably expect ethics to be put in the back seat.

I have one program that "broke" with windows 10 and all it was is a small graphics bug, hell I'm amazed it ran on 7 with its age

I don't want to downgrade to windows 10

PLAIN AND SIMPLE

NO

YOU CAN'T FORCE ME

oh also this is a good thing that's happening

shouldn't have done that in the first place, but at least they're backing out on the decision

downgrade to windows 10
looks like someone has been beta testing windows 11

For me, I haven't really noticed a difference between 7 and 10 other than a different interface.

i run 7 and i like the layout of it, and i don't really want to upgrade because of all the horror stories i've heard about beloved games suddenly not working
imo there's nothing wrong with 7 and if it ain't broke, don't fix it
Except that things WILL break because while new tech progresses, old tech FALLS BEHIND. So if you want to be compatible with new things in the tech world, you gotta get rid of the old (or at least get the new). My question is... if it's something that you will likely end up doing anyway, why not get it while it's free?

i refuse to update to windows 10 because i use OS X and ubuntu

i wonder what will happen when windows 10 no longer becomes free

will it just cease to pester people, keep pestering people only also begging for money, or will it just install it and steal your money from somewhere

it doesn't stop being free
it will eventually stop being free to upgrade but if you've already upgraded then you have it forever

That's what I mean. You should upgrade while it's still free instead of waiting until you want it later and it costs money. :|

in my case by the time this laptop breaks down I'll probably get a new one with 10 preinstalled anyways

I upgraded to Windows 10 and enjoyed it but had to downgrade back to Windows 7 because a couple games stopped working, like GTA, which wouldn't even launch.
But since I've upgraded, I can re-upgrade at any time even after the "free upgrade" date passes, as long as it's on the same computer. So, I'm not worried.

i'm too lazy to upgrade and i'm paranoid that i'll be one of the unlucky few who get a buggy upgrade :(
