Good imagery, but not good enough to provoke a physical reaction. Try the story "Guts" if you're curious.
Maybe tell the reader to hold their breath for that scene?

Also, nothing in it was really creepy or scary at all. Nothing that sticks with you. And the "Good gas, isn't it?" seemed really obvious. Like most people wouldn't figure it out?

loving christ I can not even bring myself to read that again.

I'm not queasy or someone who vomits easily, it pretty much never happens unless I'm sick or something, but "Guts" was the most nauseating and disgusting thing I've ever read, what amplifies that story also is that it's not some spooky spookeronio hunting down the protagonist, it's something that is entirely real, has happened before, and is just so realistic and descriptive it's just. ehaugh god damn forget that stuff never reading it again.
