I have a pair of ATH M50x headphones, and they're great quality and your phone can drive them despite being studio headphones. They're a bit cheaper but if you want high quality i suggest Seinnheisers but higher tier ones will require some extra hardware to get better sound quality

also none of those have built-in microphones

sennheisers make good high quality headphones

Just get a pair of Skullcandy Grinds :^)

Sony Gold are best. Why?
1. You can connect the headset using a USB into any devices that use a USB which connects your headset Bluetooth wise to the USB and into the device.
2. It comes with it's own auxiliary cord. You can use your own longer one too!
3. loving wireless! Walk around house while chatting with friends, take a loud piss while on a vc so your friends can know how rude you are!
4. It has a built-in microphone to the Headset for crystal clear audio.
5. You do not have to replace batteries like other annoying brands.
6. The headset can be adjusted to fit your fat potato head.
7. This headset also has extremely comfortable cushions that rape your head comfortably.
8. With complete virtual surround sound you can play CS:GO and get shot up by unexpected home thiefs.
9. Has audio control buttons on the left ear side of the headset.
10. Is an open ear headset-nothing much to say there..
11. It comes with two versions one the standard and two the anniversary addition that rips you off for extra beauty.
12. Headset is in between the African poor and Annoying Orange rich scale.

loving buy this. It's worth your $100 that you don't have.

imo if I was OP and I had ~300 USD, id personally buy headphones with high audio quality(such as seinhieser or whatever) and then buy a standalone mic if needed

evemthough u have to plug in one more extra USB/jack, its worth it because now u get good mic and audio quality rather than better-than-average audio quality and somewhat ok mic quality
I own a headset, but I wished I had a standalone mic and headphones

I have been using the siberia elite prism (now re-branded to siberia 650) from steelseries for a little over a year and a half. I use it almost every day and haven't had any problems with it.
Probably not what you are looking for, but it's a suggestion.

IEMs? (earbuds/earphones/thing)
if so westone adventure alphas or shure se535s
if not, ath-m50 or hyperx cloud i/ii or cloud revolver

I used to be a big fan of steelseries, not much of one anymore.
My Siberia v3 prism had the headband broken off, and my Siberia raw prism had the right side starting to detatch. I currently use some logitechs and they work great. Also, I can't return my Siberia v3 because I don't have the receipt from when it was ordered from their website.
My senseI raw developed a squeaking noise with the scroll wheel, but it's tolerable for now.
My apex is OK for now.

You could wait till the economy deflates in order to get these for a lesser pricetag:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0142FEWD4/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ANWO42QIBSCE1

Not sure what this is equal to in dollars.  Anyway, better than the previous model, sturdy, better sound stage and sound coverage etc.  I'm extremely pleased with this product.

In order to increase the life of the headphone, braid the cable and buy a little segment of cable, 3.5 stereo female to 3.5 stereo male, so that if the jack bends, it will only be that little segment.

first of all, all of those features are things that you can find in other headsets.
second of all, if OP has a budget of $300, then he'll probably want a good headset and then a standalone mic with the leftover money.
third of all,
It's worth your $100 that you don't have.
this remark was absolutely unnecessary because, if you had read the op, you would see that OP has a budget of $300. this clearly implies that he already has that money set aside for the purchasing of a headset.

Facetiousness is common.

it was an unnecessary jab at OP when a quick look would have told him that OP had a budget of well over $100 lol

And AudioTechnica, both do a great job at making high quality headphones at a reasonable price.
