Author Topic: so i got a steam controller  (Read 1696 times)

this thing is pretty sweet honestly. i played speedkart with it and it was grand.

Only game I'm using it for at the moment is Phantasy Star Online. And it does a good job at that.

I love how customizable it is, I just don't like how you have to be running the game through steam + big picture for it to actually register.

i used it for shadow of mordor and it was pretty damn fine

does well at dark souls 3

but yeah that is a bit of a toughy. its not too much of a hassle for what it gives you though

make sure you take the time to customize it. using it straight out of box doesn't do it justice

im actually typing with it now lol

it's really fun to use it for typing

and customizing it for MC is an interesting challenge, but I think the steam controller is probably one of the only controllers capable of doing it well

once the game has a bind set for it you dont need to use big picture, also steam updated it so you can customize it outside big picture with he right click menu on a game

Mine is arriving today, actually!

i play with a old Ps3 Scuf controller with a broken off backpaddle

So it actually is worth getting? I heard way too many doubts about it for a while and then I stopped hearing about it in general.

i'd say it's completely worth it for those used to computer gaming, but wish to have a controller of some kind, without the issues of normal controllers from a PC perspective

if you're used to playing console games, the other controllers are probably good enough
but if you haven't used controllers much and have only used mouse + keyboard, the touchpads on them are amazing

And everyone told me it was awkward and stuffty when I got mine :V
